About

Sometimes new music struggles to find it's voice. It's been said that great music can be judged on what it has to say. Amidst these two great parameters, Hooray For Love has managed to charge through doing both well.

Born from a desire to see pop music and experimentation merge and form a place that challenges free expression, Hooray For Love is moving into uncharted territory with full effect.

Zach Hendricks, frontman for the band and a former pop singer/songwriter sat down to talk about his path to dance pop music.

"I guess its something I felt strongly about, my joy and interest in programming, and beat making. It's one of those things you did at home and then you went out and gigged with all your singer/songwriter friends. I really think we are treading on new ground here. This idea that you can bring this singer style to dance pop and still have a voice; still have something to say. You don't have to sing about how the DJ is going to play this song ya know. I think it's a real interesting juxtaposition. I know we're not for everyone and we are all fans of different stuff, but we are having a blast making this music and touring this record"

From synths, to bells, to beats, to melodic layers you can expect a truly beautiful, pop experimental evening.

There truly is an effort to focus on more than just the music, however. They press to appeal to all senses. There's more than a fresh sound; there's also an extremely energetic and interactive live show. "We want everyone involved", says Micah Bickham. "We want people to sing, clap, dance....everything. We're striving to make our shows an experience that challenges people not to just listen, but to participate. Music is active."

At the heart of these bandmates in a desire to create songs that can appeal to all. "We are writing songs about the most important things to us. We want to give glory. We want to point to Christ, because we believe that He is hope. We also want to sing about things that are true, no matter where that inspiration is drawn from. So we sing about life, and we believe that God reveals His character and His truth in those things."

"It's this idea that creativity, and expression through art can again be relevant. That indie pop has a place and we are taking that idea seriously. It's at the core of everything this band does."
